      The Far Right is rising EVERYWHERE. Before criticizing America, they should realize that we’re just the canary in the coalmine, and they should take care of their own countries, because THEY are next. They should be rooting for the Left to take back America, because that’s what they have to do in their own countries, too.

      Besides, wishing for America’s demise is stupid. The economies of every country in the world is tied directly or indirectly to the American economy. If America truly collapses, it will bring down the entire world. Like it or not, it’s the TRUTH.

          Oh, the Swedish Democrats party? Yeah, they’re cool with gay people existing, but think marriage certification should be allowed to be denied on a case by case basis. They also hate foreigners and trans people.

            I’m not endorsing SD, I fucking hate then. I’m just saying that there’s a world of difference between the far right in many European countries, compared to the far right in the USA.

          They say they do (except the LGBTQ+ part, I don’t really see that) , but they actually don’t. They make wild promises (with no plans), only to then “realise” that it’s harder than they though.

          They just say that to make them more palatable and undermine actual left wing parties. The amount of times I’ve heard from far-right voters in my country that the difference between their far right party and the socialist party is really small and that they are “economically pretty left”, is insane.

            The suck, I’m just saying the Overton window in much of Europe isn’t really comparable to the discourse in the USA. It would be instant suicide for them to even appear as though they want to limit free health care, abortion or gay rights.

            They got rid of a really competent (not praise from me, just an assessment) top politician over her resistance against the right to free abortions. That’s where Sweden’s far right is.

    Europeans should be self aware enough to recognize that the most devastating criticism of Trump are direct comparisons to historic European tyrants. And forget about Hitler or Mussolini. Donald Trump at his worst can’t even measure up to Leopold II.

        Never mind that in those examples that they gave, none of them were elected like Trump was:

        • Hitler lost the election for president; but was later appointed as chancellor by the guy that won after political pressure;

        • Mussolini was appointed by the king after threats of paramilitary force;

        • Leopold II was a hereditary monarch

      My preferred comparison is to Napoleon III. It’s not a perfect match, but provides a lot of comparisons: the attack on freedoms, the incompetent political appointees, the unwise foreign wars, the puffed-up overconfidence and the sheer mediocrity…

      Nah, tbh I was shitting my pants a year ago but most far-right parties have plateaued or reversed in the polls recently. I think we just might have too few morons to turn far-right. Juuuuuust might.

        Well, US interference is so blatant and obnoxious that is actually counterproductive. Trump getting elected stopped a few far right movements, and others lost momentum.

        Paying 2000 people in St petersburg to shit post non stop about immigration, works. Sending vance to deliver a speech, doesn’t.

    I would never clap back a Europeans criticizing the USA. It would be impolite, and they’re usually right anyway. I’d love to move to the EU someday too; but it won’t happen because the only thing they hate more than USians are brown Muslims 😔.

        I’m not sure about that. Each time there’s conflict between Romani gangs and Muslim gangs the fascists always cheer for the Romani.

        The fascist party of my country actually has some good support among the Romani communities.

          It is a self-serving circle. People assign certain behaviors to Romani, refusing to take them as a part of the society. Then the Romani will act that way, since it is expected anyway, and there is barely chances to do otherwise. And the cycle has continued for a long time, creating a culture that is not only shunned by the society, but also sees itself not being a part of the society, so their actions reflect on that. Stopping the cycle is incredibly difficult, as the racism is ingraved deep. That does not mean, that it should not be the goal, though.

      To be fair, right now all EU is not high on any kind of immigration, because of above-mentioned + housing crisis + working condition going down.

      The second you speak the local language though, that perception changes 180.

        To be fair, right now all EU is not high on any kind of immigration, because of above-mentioned + housing crisis + working condition going down.

        Also we kinda let them drown on Mediterranean sea, and treated the ones coming in like shit, that helped a bit

        Bullshit, then starts the complaining how they speak so badly and don’t understand what you’re saying etc. For some reason many people take it as a personal insult that someone speaks their language badly, rather than as a compliment that the person has gone through the efforts to learn it

          Yes. It’s all your fault and mine. We are both the Epstein class and we are directly responsible for both manufacturing the wars and invasions, the refugee crisis (which definitely did not contribute to worsening the power of working class across Europe with influx of workers who did not join the unions and had to accept to work for less to survive), etc. etc. It’s definitely our fault, and thus EU fault.

          I also don’t really remember EU bombing Africa or Middle East, only USA & UK, who are famously not part of the EU, but sure.

          Bullshit, then starts the complaining how they speak so badly and don’t understand what you’re saying etc.

          I do not presume to know about the shithole you’re living in, but in Poland the moment a foreigner tries to speak Polish (yes, even the hated “brown Muslims”) this doesn’t happen. Heck, there’s even a chain of Vietnamese restaurants that is marketing itself making jokes about expecting racism and not receiving it.
