I’ll always excuse a trek reference.

Since we aren’t capable of gaining absolute knowledge, we’re cursed with having to each set our personal threshold for skepticism/credulity. Setting it too low like your quiet uncle seems like it would be a confusing nightmare.
I tend to be skeptical, but I still went down a rabbit hole the other day re: aliens after indirectly reading about “sightings” in Europe in the 1600s. This one was fascinating:

21·27 days agoI only skimmed this thread because of how much there was, but it sounds like you both started with points about minor annoyances, but it just kept escalating, and at a certain point it turned into unproductive insults. I think it’s a good point for us to ask to “break it up” and let’s just move on please.
