“What about Klingon nonsense?”
“Believe it or not, that falls under Ferengi nonsense.”

"Despite being full of Bajoran nonsense, episodes about The Prophets are actually ‘Sisko is a good Dad’ "
What about Trill nonsense?
Missing “Will Garak and Bashir finally get together?”
no no, the question is, “is Bashir actually gay, or is Garak that good of a spy?”
Am I just romance blind, or did anyone else not notice anything romantic between those two? People online always talk about how there is so much romantic subtext/chemistry between the two that the producers had to put a stop to, but I just don’t see it.
Rewatch the opening scene from season 1’s “Past Prologue” where Garak first sits with Bashir. There’s flirty subtext throughout.

There is some video that recuts that exchange a bit and adds some provocative music at specific moments, and I think that effectively changes the vibe to fit the romantic narrative. But the actual original scene just comes off to me as a kid scared of a potential bad guy.
“Some romantic music”
Like actually romantic music that fits the scene or George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’?
He always seemed more nervous by the fact he (accurately) believes Garak is a spy, which fascinates him, but also was shocked that said spy was trying to get information from him which boosted his ego and played to his interests. Like a kid having their own hero approach them and not the other way around.
Andrew Robinson, that actor who played Garak, intentionally added that subtext.
I absolutely believe that was the actors’s intent, but I still just do not see it. Other people definitely do, but I think I am just too oblivious to that sort of thing.
It’s fair to be oblivious to sexual and romantic subtext. At least you’re aware that you have that issue.
It’s one of those fan interpretation things. You can view their interactions through a lot of modern shipping tropes. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JdlXt2EWnkM
When it first aired I think it was less about implied romance, and more just Garak occasionally having the energy of a queer-coded Disney villain.
Bisexual Bashir is also an easier fan reading than most shows around that time. The last season literally had a scene where Bashir accused Miles of liking him more than his wife.
Sadly it’s not that there was “so much” it was that it was “so gay.” Berman cracked down hard on that, so there’s only hints left.
Might be a bit blind i was like 15 when past prologue aired. “oh that handsy lizard is being all sexual”
I am afab though
This is Jeffrey Combs erasure and will not stand (partially covered by Ferengi nonsense but only slightly)
As written by a Cardassian indeed.
Unfortunately, he committed suicide before finishing the post.

Vic Fontaine was one of the highlights of the show for me. The episode with Nog after he lost his leg is incredible
Hey! Hey hey - Vic is canon, and you Nerysniks can make like a drum and beat it. If Big Nog has to tell you again, it’ll be ring-a-ding-ding time for you bozos, capiche?
Missing
- Sisko commits warcrimes
To protect his son. Ergo, Sisko is a good dad.
How did bombing the Maquis planet, when he was told to leave Michael Eddington the fuck alone protect Jake?
Protected him from having a good role model?
He can live with it.
To be fair that’s a smaller subset of everyone commits war crimes
Holodeck nonsense? That’s at least one or two episodes per season.
DSM-9
Fake news. No Pah-Wraiths.
I haven’t watched DS9 as much as the other series, but superficially this does sound familiar. Tbh the static DS9 setting never appealed to me that much - my favorite episodes are when they go on missions in the Defiant.
While I’m on the subject, one thing that really disappointed me was in “Way of the Warrior” when the Klingons boarded the station to take it over. I totally assumed they would succeed, and was looking forward to seeing how the feds would take it back. But the Klingon raiding party got their asses kicked in like 8 seconds. I mean srsly - did the writers even watch Star Trek? A crack squad of the galaxy’s master warriors couldn’t take over a glorified office building? Truly disappointing.
what about gay space doctor accepting himself for who and what he is?

You mean the augment? That’s what I call them. Filthy augments!
Which type was Move Along Home?
Probably needs to add “holosuite nonsense”. move along home, vic fontaine, bashir’s wacky spy adventures, etc.
True. The fine print in Quarks holosuite terms of service make it clear that it can’t be considered Ferengi nonsense.
“Quark’s Bar, Grill, Gaming House, and Holosuite Arcade holds zero liability for any bodily injury, dissolution, localized gravitational anomalies, safety-protocol “glitches,” or unexpected temporal displacement occurring within the holosuite program. Any subsequent medical expenses, loss of limbs, or funeral arrangements are solely the financial responsibility of the patron. Rule of Acquisition 17 exceptions apply for Ferengi patrons in good standing with the FCA.”
Ferengi
It defines categories. As it stands head and shoulders above everything else as the best episode in the entire franchise
What about
- The fascists won (but they’ll be defeated in the next episode)
I was just gonna point out that Odo’s whole race amounts to a gestalt fascist enslaving other races.
