The washer is on the “mud room” or “gross kitchen”, which has a doorless wall opening to the combined kitchen/dining area.
This layout was common in early 90s suburban family homes and still today.
I don’t really like the layout, but I’ll admit that it’s practical.
They either have a really fancy laundry room, or a really shitty living room.
That’s the kitchen. It’s a small under-the-counter washing machine commonly found in the kitchen in many parts of the world.
