Ironic. The essence of it is: Buc-ee’s has a long track record of suing small businesses that use cartoon animal mascots, even if they look nothing like their own mascot and even if the businesses are not even competitors.

outrageous! a rich person tries to make more money, althought they are rich. and democrats probably wanted something totally outlandish like the companies paying for what they use, fixing damages they cause and livable wages for the workers. no wonder socialism is barreling through the elections, people vote, not money.

The defense attorney said the cases involve “many thorny legal issues” and one question in particular: “May a homeowner install a camera in his home without telling housekeepers or guests, or does the guest have a greater legal right than the homeowner?”

How the hell is this a thorny legal issue? It should not be a question at all.

It’s one thing to have a doorbell camera or a security camera inside that films your front door and foyer or living room. It’s another thing entirely to have a hidden camera in the bathroom.

Yes, and even then it’s basic courtesy to warn your guests, and it should be illegal to not notify your tenants/homekeepers of the camera (at least in my country it is, and it’s illegal to install them in any living quarters - including the bathroom -)

A cursory search on the internet came up with an: “in the US, it depends on the state, provided that you are not recording anyone naked” (so in general no cameras in bedrooms, changing rooms and bathrooms - in other places the legislation is much more obscure, depending on the state).

Another thorny legal issue for republicans:

Do the “human rights” of black slaves trump the property rights of their owners? And how are you supposed to protect your economic rights other than by beating the shit out of them?

Do the “privacy rights” of guests and tenants trump the property rights of their landlords? And how are you supposed to protect your economic rights other than by recording their every move on your property?

It’s basically the same fucking question. And it’s such a thorny and contentious one finding a balance must be hard.

Because in a sane society, basic human rights clearly do not have precedence over any other rights, right?

You and me are going to have to fight now because you ranked Wawa and Sheetz as if they were equivalent. Wawa is the worst of the bunch of made-to-order food counter gas station/convenience store chains. People from Philly just gush about them because they never go any further than Bucks county and they don’t know any better.

Rutter’s blows them all out of the water, though.

          I prefer Cum Farm, tyvm.

Weird hearing about Circle K though. Never heard of one for 12 years while living in MD, then saw them everywhere down in Florida. Don’t recall ever seeing a Circle K in states around MD either. 7/11 is pretty ubiquitous, however in FL they always had gas pumps and in MD it was just a corner store. It’s so weird how much it can vary from region to region, and sometimes even by bordering states.

There is at least one buccees in VA. They lost my money because they changed their mind about building EV charging there. I was gonna go there during a road trip to shop for road trip crap while charging my car, but I had to go somewhere else to charge. Short sighted as fuck. I was gonna get jerky and a sandwich and some snacks and a drink or two, plus my wife probably wanted some stuff. But no, fuck those hippies, their money is no good here.

I mean the Musk part of it is just weird. He owns an EV company, spends his money to hurt EV sales, supports Texas being anti EVs, but wants to move all his businesses there. Like the whole EV cab business only works if the people are willing to get in the cabs. And he’s trying to convince people on the right to hate them, and the left to hate him…

So he has to be losing half the market intentionally it seems.
