Dude, are you jealous? I pick up sticks too but I’ve never found a free telephone pole! Finding a telephone pole just there on the street next to big piles of gravel and bags of concrete and the heavy machinery… Obviously someone just discarded it. You can get it recycled for a good $50 bucks!

Like the other person said, they’re likely taking it to a metal scrapyard for easy cash. You get 10¢/lb for steel, $1.50/lb for aluminum, and $5/lb for copper. If you own a pickup truck, you can make a decent chunk of change in a day of simply driving through alleyways and backroads and picking up whatever bits of metal you find along the way.
