In an interview hosted by Politico, the California governor said the US must ‘wake up’ to the the threat posed by the president’s disregard of democratic norms

Donald Trump is gravely serious about running for a third term in violation of the US constitution, California governor Gavin Newsom said on Wednesday, warning Americans to “wake up” to what he described as the president’s flagrant disregard for democratic norms.

“I don’t think Donald Trump wants another election,” Newsom, a Democrat, said during a live interview at a summit hosted by Politico in Sacramento. “This guy doesn’t believe in free, fair elections.”

Newsom, who has gained national attention in recent weeks for his merciless trolling of Trump online and who is widely considered a presidential contender, said he had a stack of two dozen “Trump 2028” hats sent to him by the president’s supporters.

        Oh this is where we draw the line? Trying to get elected a 3rd time? Not when he imprisoned a shitload of children, seperating them from their families? Not when he threatened to invade your allies? Not when he incited a violent mob, trying to overthrow the democratically elected government? Not when he violated the constitution by getting elected after trying to overthrow the government?

        The line is finally here?

          Whoa whoa whoa, hold up, if we held former presidents responsible for imprisoning a shitload of children, threaten/bomb/invade a country who thought they were on good terms, try/successfully overthrow a democratically elected government, we’d have to try nearly every president in the last century!

            Because I’m not american, and it’s not my fight. I would absolutely love it if the american people could get their shit together, since for some reason, everything that happens in America fucks up Europe.

              I’ve yet to see anyone try actual mobilization. Mostly, I read vaguely phrased “Someone should do something (violent[?])” posts, followed by “I don’t want to get in trouble so I can’t say anything further” or “Shut up, you haven’t done anything either”.
