    I understand many will find this a silly question but bear with me:

    Under what authority can Trump ban imports from Canada?

    I don’t think he has any statutory ability to just ban shit from Canada. I’m sure this will go through the courts and eventually be ruled illegal, like the tariffs were. It’s crazy that “President declares blatantly illegal thing but it’s defacto legal for 90 days” has become the norm.

        Actually, that’s even better. The original tariffs were done under a “national security” proviso. This would mean that Canadian beer is a threat to national security.

        You really couldn’t ask for better marketing.

      While he’s carrying out a trade war with Canada, he’s bragging about that ridiculous ballroom, erecting an arch, gluing tacky gold shit to the White House walls, painting the reflecting pool blue, declaring victory in Iran even as oil is hitting $100 a barrel, having his personal lawyer as AG cover up for a pedophile ring, having his Justice Department investigate shit from 2016 that made him bigly mad because of his relationship to Russia, openly and brazenly enriching himself and his family, etc., etc.,

          Well, in the run-up to his first election a decade ago, you had a lot of the Tone Police and the Murc’s Law Media gaslighting people and labeling anyone trying to warn America about donnie as “hysterical”.

          Same set of idiots did more or less the same thing in the run-up to 2024, claiming that his first term “wasn’t that bad”, I guess because he was not literally Hitler.

        Don’t forget falling in love with a clinically insane 35 year old fame seeker that made herself look like his daughter so he’d be attracted to her, who he recently gave 45k in gifts that we know of, because he’s a narcissist incestual dirty old pedo who isn’t capable of understanding real love or friendships, and is an easy mark for other grifters. That’s so embarrassing, especially for a president and world leader.
