See I get that this part makes sense. She maintains her core beliefs by inverting them; she still serves the prophets, just the true ones rather than the “false” ones who chose an alien over her.
It’s Dukat that makes the whole thing just a step too far. Shaking up with him when he wasn’t in the Cardassian makeup? Ok, understandable. Nice bit of drama, even. But sticking through it after she learns who he is? That’s too much. Antagonist X teams up with Antagonist Y, cue big finale that wraps everything up all neat. It’s cheesy.
Yeah, it mostly works for what its going for. I just think Wynn could have had a more interesting role in Bajoran politics and religion going forward. She was a nice embodiment of the reactionary wing.
It’s kinda funny how much Star Trek doesn’t want to touch anything after the Dominion War. Everything’s either retracing TOS or distant future might-as-well-be-reboot territory.

Oh, but at that point she was just using Dukat, and she knew she would need a sacrifice for the final step. Who better than this hated enemy?
Plus for the sake of writing, we’re showing these two primary villains side by side, seeing that they are truly reflections of each other.
