I like the lighter color of these compared to the daikon radish and I’m already starting to see the red/pink hue of the stems showing. The germination rate seems very high. My rule now is strict 24 hour soak, for both radish and peas, and then move to water swap and blackout phase. My main recent mistake has been soaking for too long, which increases the time to sprout considerably and can kill the seeds. The fuzz is from the roots, not mold.
The main problem I had is that some seeds fall through the side holes, so I’ve lost maybe about ~3%. I probably could filter them out when I swap the bottom water tray and put them back into the top tray, but they get drowned and it’s more work. A second problem is spreading them evenly in the tray. I’ve figured out that raising the water level to be a couple millimetres above the mesh lets me tap and splash them to spread more evenly.
Once they reach this stage the hardest parts are done, which is why I’m posting. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.
Best of luck to you
These are what mine look like. The small holes are great for not disturbing the ones underneath. Basically you fill up the four layers with seeds, stack them and pour water into the top, when you go and water it next, you dump the catch tray, and rotate the bottom tier to the top.

As you rotate them, they each get time getting full “light”. The seeds also have surface tension, so they hold the proper amount of water around themselves.
Yea those are great for sprouts, but what I’m looking for are taller full microgreens which take up more vertical space. It would be cool to see what you have except twice as tall and wide. Thanks for sharing.

I mean they’re as tall as yours when it comes down to it, they’re for microgreens or sprouts. When they get taller, it’s a little more creativity, but you still have 1.5”, which is plenty for fresh microgreens.
Yours are frankly leggy, and that’s even with the additional lights, I just leave mine on my counter. That’s plenty light.
They aren’t as tall. Sprouts and microgreens are distinctly different.

Microgreens are just sprouts grown for a couple more days.
The hell are you going on about lol.
Do you cut your sprouts from the seed or just eat the whole thing?
Depends, I do both depending on the seed.
Same crap as mine dude, but labeled as microgreens.
That’s not the same as yours.

I need to get back into it, but the sprout trays ive bought you don’t soak. You stack them on top of each other and pour a cup of water through a few times a day. The containers have a web design and it holds enough water in each of the trays.
Any seeds that fall out you can just throw back in when you do the next water. But, my holes are significantly smaller than yours even.
