The time to be picky is in the primaries, but its vote blue no matter who in the general.

Primaries need to be more trustworthy if you don’t want people to act like they’ve been railroaded.

We all saw what happened with the “primaries” in 2024. The party sued as many candidates as it could off the ballot, to the point where Biden was the only candidate on the ballot in all 50 states. Then he dropped out and anointed Harris without any input from the voters who rejected her in 2020.

Oh hell yeah they do. But, we got what we got and, when facing a terminal illness like this fascism, work with the tools you got. Chemotherapy is a toxic poison, but it’ll do when faced with terminal cancer.

Yes, the primaries need a massive overhaul. But, if people voted blue no matter who in the general, transgender people wouldn’t be labeled as domestic terrorists today for merely existing.

I don’t know why you think I wanted to be convinced to vote how I already voted in an election that’s already over.

I voted for harris. If the party keeps doing the same thing, they will keep getting the same results. The voters won’t vote for second worst in sufficient numbers to win, and no amount of condescending centrist-splaining is going to change that. The only thing that will is the party being better.

Remind me: did the blue vote get meaningfully split by the establishment dems in the general? Or, is Mamdami sitting in the seat?

The party tried. And you’ll forgive everything the centrist wing will ever do.

I think that if the corporate ccespool is what the voters want, then let them have it. Alabama is a shithole, but its the shithole the voters voted for. Let them fester in their squaler to their hearts’ content. That’s the nature of democracy and regional governance we have.

Am I glad Mandami won? Of course I am. We haven’t had a true centrist to model center-left to the American people in a lllllooooonnnnnggggg time. But, the system worked.

The system failed. It’s why Mamdani won. If the system had succeeded like it usually does, sex pest Cuomo would be mayor.

Mamdami was way after the election, and he was a catalyst to more “left than center right seats” if dnc/gop had continued thier media attack against him. they largely stopped.

So attempting to split the vote is fine if you’re a corporate Democrat trying to stop a dirty communist from winning?

I’m not voting for either oligarch-and-Zionazi-owned party.

If that’s the price of maintaining our plutocracy which we call “democracy” for some reason, I refuse. Too expensive. Not getting my name. Won’t stop them, but not getting my name to endorse your evil, Blue MAGA.

Oh, so you’re willing to let fascism reign supreme? They’re already building the camps.

Look, I get you’re stance. But, such hopes and dreams don’t mean much to Renee Good. We have a focused enemy to defeat here and now. The hope that the limited window of the ideal candidate being chosen in the primary but voting against fascism no matter who in a general election are the tools we have here and now to defeat that enemy.

There were tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of Renee Goods murdered in Palestine with Biden’s help.

Miss me with that Blue MAGA weaponization of martyrs to further the goals of your preferred imperialist dogs. Disgusting.

I don’t vote for genocidaires. I don’t vote for imperialists. Period, no exceptions.

                  The point I was making:

                  No.

You are saying that you depend on the left in order to win. In politics, that’s called leverage. The onus is on your party to run a candidate we find acceptable and behave in such a way that we reasonably believe they may uphold their campaign promises. Failing that, we do not care if your genocidal, oligarch-and-Zionazi-owned party wins or loses. You may view them as the lesser evil; that doesn’t matter to people like me who view them as equally evil. You can argue on Lemmy and Threads and Bluesky all day, it won’t change the minds of people who have seen what the Democrats are and what they support. You can win an election by meeting our demands, or you can keep losing. We owe you nothing and have no interest in your success otherwise.
