Sure, but it only taxes a gallon $0.50 more than Texas.

Yeah, should have been “Trust us…or not. Doesn’t matter, we’ll do what we want regardless.”

I think that’s a completely valid concern.

VPN and different mirrors. Stupid Big Tech laws being pushed into 1/2 of the states with almost the same language. It’s something to address in the new Constitution after this country burns down.

Neither? After Vietnam, the US doesn’t have the stomach/naivety to put up with that again. The US isn’t on a war economy. There aren’t two other massive countries supporting and supplying Iran. War isn’t waged that way anymore. It’s not going to be Vietnam, and it’s not even a semi cool war. It’ll go down as as distraction (hopefully not the distraction) from the criminality and depravity of the Epstein class. Iran will remain a power in the region and the world will have yet another reason not to trust the US.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

I loved tripping in college and as a young adult. I grew up, friends changed…and now I find myself a few decades down the line thinking I just want to drop a little and I have no contacts anymore. So frustrating.

I drove OTR a couple decades ago. I knew several drivers that had regular stops across the country. If he was hanging around for 2 weeks, and not just a few days waiting to catch up with his log, he’s probably not having another big thing going. Just the normal.

What does that do?

Religion. Even when I’ve taken the time to look up the difference is between a Catholic and a Christian, or a Shia and a Sunni, it seems like within minutes at most, that knowledge just sublimates.

In 2005, Rolling Stone magazine called Sanders “The Amendment King”. He could get more roll-call amendments passed than any other congressman during the period since 1995.
As an independent, Sanders could form coalitions across party lines.
As a member of the Congress, Sanders sponsored 15 concurrent resolutions and 15 Senate resolutions. Of the ones he co-sponsored, 218 made it into law.
Doesn’t seem like he has been totally ineffectual.

I’ve been in camp Vim for decades, but I almost always suggest micro to people dipping their toe into Linux. I can’t imagine thinking nano, or whatever, would be more comfortable unless the person has never used a computer before.

Same. Makes nano a fucking nightmare.
Must have gone back in time as well. It’s been many decades since a nuclear weapon was used in an attack.

Humans are just the worst. People actually found this acceptable entertainment:
Over the years, the show has attracted much controversy. In 2009, the show was investigated after a 14-year-old girl was asked about her sexual history while strapped to a lie detector, forcing her to admit she had been raped when she was 12.
Another time the pair told a Cambodian-Australian woman they would bring her niece to Australia but send the niece back if she did not correctly choose the door she was standing behind. The woman chose the wrong door, broke down in tears and begged for her niece to be allowed to stay, which the show agreed to.
No great loss indeed.

The number of times I’ve taken a picture of a bird in Merlin to identify a bird and it spits back “House sparrow” or “House finch” for the umpteenth time. I think I have bird blindness. Unless it’s an obvious one, I have no idea what I’m looking at.
That thumbnail for a “bird watching” post is funny.

Mercenary hired to kill for monetary gain. How’s that different than a soldier? Source of payment?
I can’t remember if I’ve seen a house without a garage and/or driveway.
