

That’s a cool idea to sorta reclaim space that would otherwise be rather sterile (minus algae and mosquitos). Makes me think how i can try and set up similar things on my, soon to have, rooftop terrace. I don’t think I could set up a sphagnum bog given the heat/sun and my lack of a mass RODI system to keep things moist out here but I’ve been looking into natives that may work well in containers outdoors.
I’d love to see updates, especially with the carnivores!




Oh true, didn’t think about collecting rainwater. I’ve always wanted to set up a system for that but just haven’t had the time to explore or the space to set it up but maybe this’ll be a project to bring back. I do think ensuring no complete dryout would be the hardest part. I’d love to set up a bog garden for temperate carnivorous plants and just have them cohabitate with sphagnum.
Do you have any issues with stagnant water under the plants since there’s no drainage per se? Or does the substrate/moss wick everything up pretty quick?
