Memes@sopuli.xyz•Why don't teens go outside anymore? No! not like that!
18·4 days agoAre there literal curfews nowadays for kids or is that hyperbole.
Where/when I grew up we didn’t have specific curfews, but the cops mightve stopped to ask questions if you were out an about at 2am or something. But we would typically just be hanging out and chatting after a long day of skateboarding
What’s the connection between Brave and crypto?
Feel like genuine solar punk vibes seeing wind turbines in modern crop feilds too. The the GPS controlled rows and variable planting densities
I don’t mind a little rain on the 4th. Makes me less worried about fire accidents haha. Luckily we just had a ton of heavy rain earlier this week, so everything is still pretty moisturized
Maybe it is just where I live, but conservatives around here actually really seem to support wind energy. Wind farms actually provide a ton of high paying blue collar jobs.
I think it’s mainly the politicians paid off by fossil fuel companies trying to turn people against clean energy

Ask Science@lemmy.world•What is the most powerful programming language in computer science and is it safe to use it with AI?English
4·12 days agoI say, if you’re interested in kinda hardware start with an Arduino (C++). Or just generally curious about messing around with code, start with Python
Ollama with gemma 4 for LLM stuff, coding brainstorming, etc.
Comfy ui with z-image or stable diffusion for images.

92·20 days agoI recall a study where they trained 100 pigeons to categories categorize cancer in tissue samples and the average of all their responses was better than a single oncologist.
I’m probably not going to consult a flock of pigeons though for important things anytime soon though
One fun element is the double lift card trick reveal.
Like get their card ontop somehow and the descretly lift the top 2 cards up, pretending they are just a single card. Then you show them the 2nd to top card and ask is this your card? They will say no, you put the two cards on the top of the deck, do a magic tap or something, and then you only lift the top card, their card off the top of the deck after it transforms into theirs
I think I used to do a similar one, but with memorizing the top card of the deck and having them cut the deck! Lots of variations too and presentation is everything

161·30 days agoI don’t know why isn’t it just the parents responsibility. For example where I live, you can get charged with “negligent storage of a firearm”. Why can’t there just be a “negligent allowing your kid to do whatever they want with no DNS filtering” offense

Technology@lemmy.world•Leak Reveals Microsoft Wants Its AI To Be 'Addictive'English
19·1 month agoNot necessarily. If it answers you question and go go about your day, that’s not as good for Microsoft user numbers/engagement.
They probably want it to just barely get you exactly what you need to keep you on the edge. Once they start training models for user engagement the enshitification will begin

Technology@lemmy.world•Leak Reveals Microsoft Wants Its AI To Be 'Addictive'English
6·1 month agoThey just want it to he addictive so that people use it a bunch. Then they try to sell enterprise level versions to companies they can say look how much people use it, it must be because it is so useful
