This type of reporting is frustrating and I really should get off the internet.
These surveys are done by consultanting companies that have large investment holdings. For example in this report one of the surveys is from Mercer, who has an investment wing that has a AUM (asset under management) 1 of $727 Bn according to their website 2. Would there potentially be any sort of chance someone like Mercer never put out a survey that goes against the bullish market driven by AI speculation? Obviously journalists won’t think about these things anymore because that will effect their click rate.

As someone has said, pre ground is a losing battle and any coffee you buy from a shop where they don’t show the roast date (super markets etc) will also restrict you on good taste
However, you might have some luck adding salt to your brew to improve the taste. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PUWQQ-joKE

I’ve seen many an old crusty system with good test coverage. Doesn’t mean it’s good and high coverage doesn’t mean a good test suite. Coverage doesn’t measure quality of assertions being made.

No probs. I’m not sure if Lutris follows Semver for versioning their software but, if they do, I guess technically it’s still hasn’t reach a major stable release so these things will happen (though it’s been 16 years now). Plus it is community driven so I’m happy to cut them a lot of slack and appreciate the work they’re doing 🙂

Best avoid as this commit had to be made due 0.5.21 not working at all

I’ve also noticed too and they’ve been showing up on other communities with the flimsiest reasons for why it’s been posted e.g. “Oh well I made the slopware while using Linux so that’s why I’m posting to this Linux community”. Their profiles only contributions are self promoting their slop app and nothing else. Shameless
Some communities seemed to be fine with those low effort “I made a slop thing/I’m just going to shamelessly promote” though so I think block profile/unsub is the only option.

Tauri is a cross platform framework and not something specific to the Linux operating systems as per the first rule of this community
“Posts must be relevant to operating systems running the Linux kernel. GNU/Linux or otherwise.”
Again I might be wrong, and apologies if I am, but the relevance of this post is extremely weak.

I might be missing something here but I don’t understand what this has to do with the topic of Linux? Sure you can install on Linux, but that’s not really a topic about Linux

Money for old rope-pilot

Microslop has been a rotten cesspool since it’s birth. 50 years of consistently fucking over it’s customers, then promising to change followed by more screwing so please forgive me when I say to this Don’t… Talk … Shit …

Man alive. Play a record
Have used Linux for work (desktop and server) for 15+ years. At home I’ve got Linux for my servers but desktop had stuck to windows because of gaming and audio production software.
The experience in gaming is amazing now on Linux for me and while audio is still quite iffy it’s workable.
I have never liked Microsoft so binning them off at home completely is something I’ve always wanted to do
Rats are brilliant animal model for biological studies relating to humans due to significant similarities to us. I will say though seeing a result in a single study on rats doesn’t mean “definitive this is how it works in humans” and think the video should have concluded in a less “and that’s the answer” way.
Cool video, just iffy conclusion.

Yeah @AdamBomb@lemmy.sdf.org is spot on. So I think if you want something percolation base, the Hoop could still be a good shout.
Mr Hoffman has a video guide on the Clever Dripper method AdamBomb and I mention too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpOdennxP24

I didn’t agree with his knock on the Clever dripper as it’s not comparing like for like i.e. comparing a single cup brew between each brewer.
The Clever Dripper is large enough that making a single 250ml cup isn’t risky as the water never gets half way up the brewer and you’re going to be picking up a mug anyway too so it seemed like a weird point to make. Though perhaps there are accessible mugs/cups out there so my counter point may be off.
Still the hoop looks like a cool brewer but I find brewing with a Clever dripper so hassle free (I do the water then coffee method so no goose neck kettle needed) that I couldn’t justify getting it myself. The price is a little too much in my opinion

I see this said about the 90s all the time but really this is not true. In the 90s there was (not an exhaustive list)
It’s very common when asking any person what was the best period of time for the world for their response to be a period of time their formative years were.
The reality is history is full of horrid horrid things and nostalgia is a follie that’ll trick your mind.

Ah yes a quote about beginners rapidly gaining beginner gains by practicing really does apply to a group of professionals trying to do their job in a business /s
It’s shocking the amount of morons people trying to do their job have to deal with nowadays. I’m sorry you have a colleague with the critical thinking ability of a punch drunk.

I would love to learn to not worry, stress and ruminate about every little thing ever
Can I ask, how much of a limit does the free tier have on bandwidth if you’re doing something like hosting Jellyfin?
