My built PC is 4 years old, still running a 2060 RTX and I’m thankful I have 32GB of DDR4. I’ve contemplated upgrading a few parts, but the problem always came down to memory. GPU prices have finally normalized themselves after the dumb bitcoin mining junk, that took a few years. CPU prices are arguably manageable. Everything else looks okay.

It’s just that memory is the choke point for every builder. My hope is the same hope it’s been on the GPU thing, prices will come down. It’s just taking time and it’s a matter of when. I’m just thankful I have a machine that’s fairly young. There are games I’d still like to get and upgrade for, but I’m glad they’re out all the way in 2029 (Diablo V). I need to play what I have already that I can still run.

We should’ve slowed down tech earlier. It’s gotten too rapid.

I’m tired of this question asked.

You’ll know it’s big and popular when it is talked about and has thousands flocked to it.

They don’t seem to understand what people actually want from phones.

But distros do customize them, they don’t have to always follow what Linus puts out.

The only one I care about is Road Rash. The Wing Commander games have long been available on GOG already.

Well, here’s another angle.

Kids are going to chatbots because they probably have parents that don’t give a shit about them. And kids could lack people in their lives that care at all about their problems. So, who are they going to turn to? They’re going to turn to things that will actually listen to them.

That’s something you have to think about here. We wouldn’t need AI or Chatbots at all, if we had more people who truly care. But now that they’re here, a troubled teen or a kid is going to make that choice.

It’s no different than the days before AI Chatbots, where they were online all the time because their real lives were underwhelming.

It’s the reason why Linux is the way it is. If we just succumbed to whatever Linus Torvalds wanted to do, Linux as we know it would fall completely to AI. But, that isn’t the reality we have to face, we have plenty of Linux variations out there so that we do not have to just deal with one sole Linux distro.

When the Ubuntu developers disappointed the fanbase, we had options. Lately when Linus Torvalds announced AI, we have options.

That’s the beauty of it all.

If anyone’s dumb enough to go through with these, sucks to be them.

That’s not for you to decide. I live in my country and I am always entitled to an opinion, whether you like it or not. Also, I’ve voted in the 2024 and 2020 elections.
