Because it’s standard practice in China to just close a company and restart it under a new name. The government can decide to shut down everything overnight.
Look at parts availability for stuff sold by Chinese brands.
American manufacturers need to provide parts for 10 years after the last of the same model car rolled off the assembly line. Good luck forcing Chinese brands to respect that.

We always lose when engaging with these people
They still build the only real EV truck though
If you look at my message I’m clearly painting a broad picture, “people are bad at saving money”, I never said it only applied to people with lower income. I’ve known of engineers making 300k/year panicking because 200$ were missing from their paycheque and they wouldn’t be able to make their payments… They just own a bigger house and a Porsche instead of renting an apartment and driving a Civic, in the end they have 0$ set aside and if their income goes up they just find more stuff to purchase…
And these necessities are very often procured from stores that pay their employees minimum wage, so it all comes back to what I was saying… But even for people who get paid way more than minimum wage, a significant proportion is living paycheque to paycheque or close to it.
Even when putting more money in the hands of people who make way more than what they need to afford the basics will result, in most cases, in them spending it instead of saving. You see it very clearly in regions that rely on industries like mine, people’s personal finances boom and burn… They have jobs making 150k/year and buy a big house, a truck, a quad, a snowmobile, a sports cars, motorcycles, name it, the second things slow down they can’t afford to make payments on any of that because they never saved a cent.
People are bad at saving money, increase minimum wage and they’ll just spend the extra, increasing companies revenues, allowing them to pay the higher minimum wage. In the end the employee is able to afford more stuff, the company doesn’t feel the impact, everyone is happy!
It reminds me of that Black Mirror episode where people have memory chips to allow them to relive everything they’ve ever lived.
That preservation comes at a cost though, both monetary and environmental, and the amount of data to preserve increases exponentially.
Why should we care? Never in our history have we chronicled all the mundane things like we find on the internet. It’s like saying we need to archive all the kids drawings or all the personal journals or record all in person conversations and archive them… Just because it’s digital data that can be archived if we feel like it doesn’t mean it’s important.
It’s funny because when I was in my 20s the girlfriends I had always were way richer than I was…

In proportion though it’s clearly not the same!
It’s an issue that young voters want to talk about but they don’t show up to vote no matter how much politicians cater to them (look at other countries to prove it) and the changes necessary to protect the environment aren’t popular with the people that actually vote…
I understand that the people you want the party to cater to don’t vote no matter the options presented to them (as is proven by every free elections in other countries, I know some people have a hard time understanding that other countries exist, but make an effort here) and that even if they did, gerrymandering and voter suppression makes it so they can’t flip their State.
A lot has changed since Roosevelt believe it or not.
People actually on the left only have one choice, people in-between have two, no matter how progressive you go young people (who tend to be on the left) don’t vote (we also have data from other countries to prove that they don’t vote even when there’s parties that actually want to work for them).
So, where do you think there’s more votes to be gained?
From all developers honestly but just from indies would be great considering they already have it in their contract that the % goes down after X$ of sales (which benefits larger devs).
Valve makes enough money to pay their employees more than the competition while also having surplus to have tons of side projects that will lead to nothing and making the boss a billionaire… I don’t mind the first two, but that last bit means money coming out of our pockets and going towards buying yachts…
(Disclaimer: I hate all billionaires, this applies to all platforms, we overpay for games [and most other things] in general because there’s billionaires at the top of the creation/distribution chain)
“couple of years younger” or older than Biden was in 2020 when Republicans called him too old…
