I disagree with OP’s editorialized title.
As an avid video gamer, I find myself constantly encountering subtle and overt bigotry in most online games I play. I will always call them out for it, no matter how much whooping it incites from kids just eating their popcorn and enjoying the fight.
Ignoring them is how you let the Andrew Tates of the world win, because they’re certainly not taking the high road by remaining silent about their beliefs.
The joke is that people (including the main character/OP) feel comfortable criticizing others when those others don’t know about the criticism, but as soon as they do, the anti-confrontational/cowardly/etc. part of them immediately regrets being critical.
I switched to Debian KDE Plasma recently and I can barely tell there’s a difference except it doesn’t let Firefox be snap (yay) and Steam takes 5 minutes to install instead of 0 (meh).
It’s always fascinating to read people out of hurricane-prone areas’ take on the expected survival rates for hurricanes. Absolutely amazing that you think only ~25% would survive. Andrew killed 0.0002% of Florida’s population (65 deaths), and it was the most destructive hurricane in Florida history.
