Well there’s your problem. On Android phones you can disable the Google Photos app (or remove it all together, or never have it to begin with) and replace it with a Free and Open Source Software version that doesn’t do any of that crap.
You can also install Firefox (or a secure fork eg IronFox) with ublock origin and block ads.
I didn’t forget to mention avoiding Google Play Services.
But yeah it’s harder to find ROMs without gapps these days, but still possible. MicroG in particular is like stacking a house of cards most of the time. It’s always a trade off on what’s available… makes you want to learn how to cook.
LMAO. No they won’t.
I mean, Apple already scans my photos for “memories.” This is definitely probable.

Notice how you forgot to mention play services, your entire device is now Googles as it was before and yet you still feel smug about it, womp womp

It isn’t possible unless there’s a major update to Android. I don’t use Google photos.
All they would need to do is update google play services to scan your photos without your consent and 99% of Android devices would be affected.
That’s what I meant by a major update to Android, though you’re of course more correct. I cannot wait for a proper FOSS mobile phone OS.
