The second point you made is vaguely contrary to the ideas of organic evolution, although admittedly intelligence is only one of many selective traits to the point where as you say any attribute of the parent is in no way guaranteed to be passed to the child.

Extremism is born from the real sleeping danger of poor education and information standards which allow people to latch onto and be swayed by simplistic nonsense touted all too loudly on social media. When the rest of the world wore masks to protect the person next to them a loud section of the US population believed it was a plot to turn them Muslim. Similarly when the world understood the value of the developed vaccines a large part of the US thought it was a plot to implant tracking microchips - while carrying phones that were actually capable of tracking their activity. Every country has factions of this sort and the American population might have more reason than most to suspect government instructed mass vaccination programs but for a country with so much wealth the USA seems particularly prone to the sort of demagoguery that can take root in a poorly informed population. To put it more succinctly every day the film Idiocracy gets a little less funny.

It has been said here already but I will say it again, there is no why. Why is a human thing, perhaps an animal thing, at least it is connected to conscious thought. Intelligence is a qualifier unlike other physical qualities, it allows humanity to dominate its environment while not being physically superior to many of the species surrounding us. Intelligence is a quality we recognise and calibrate in other species and seek out in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence and the development of artificial intelligence. Unlike flying or walking intelligence is universally accepted as a uniquely separate attribute, although not of course by you, so this is where I will end my discussion with you.

Humans most certainly would be it by almost any intellectual qualifier you chose to use. Grading every species we have encountered with regards to intelligence and ability to control its environment humanity is a wildly insane outlier. To point of absurdity, to the point where we do not fit to such an extent that some agency other than organic evolution might be suspected.

They are marine which makes fire impossible which severely limits industrial advancement. Similarly they are not social animals which negates a lot of the division of labour advantages of a society. While a species of octopus might advance intellectually to ponder its own existence I doubt it could achieve the infrastructure necessary to significantly control its environment.

At some point every person who enters a relationship in this way realises that they have generated absolute proof that their committed partner is utterly open to infidelity to the point of separation.

It is just your brain doing worst case scenario planning, the brain while idling loves to run through all of the most awful things that could happen in order to plan for them and give you an advantage should they occur, however outlandish and unlikely. It treats unpalatable opinions about the decisions you have made and your progress through life in the same vein. Came here to say that, I can not remember the exact details but I read somewhere there is an additional chemical complexity to emotional tears as opposed to practical flushing tears that thickens them such that they flow more slowly down the face and so are visible for longer.
