Yep, men are the only main characters. Everything else is just their possessions.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Reddit started censoring French protests after bots attempts framing it as all violence rioters failed to sway overseas opinion on redditEnglish
12·5 days agoYeah, I quit for good after comments about Spain and France. I got recommended subs I’ve never seen before and that look like they’ve been made to lure right-wing folks (with some bot comments and obviously framed posts).
It’s a mess, I don’t even know what’s real anymore and I fear it’s the people who are becoming so unloving to each other, and especially to ones who look different.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What drink tastes awful but somehow people still act like it's amazing?
1·22 days agoNot really, because the process of getting this ethanol can not yield perfect results. I don’t know about other countries but in Russia the actual alcohol used in vodka is tiered like this (worst to best, mostly by impure contents): “Высшей очистки” (of highest purification, not really in use as of today, and refers to the process used in USSR times), “Basis”, “Extra”, “Lux”, and “Alpha”.
Alpha-grade alcohol is also defined to be produced only from wheat, whereas other ones might be made from potato. This achieves lower methanol content in the product.
Still tastes like crap though, no matter the cost. Vodka is a ritual: you need a good company and a table full of different kinds of food to enjoy it.

Political Memes@lemmy.world•A month before an election!? BlooMAGA, amirite???
232·29 days agoMuricans, don’t fuck this up. We’re so tired of all the political news from your country dominating every single “global” space. Sincerely, the rest of the world.
Non-nuanced explanation: Top flag - pro-cop. Bottom flag - libertarian, “anti-government”. You can’t be both.
I like to think of “parents and tech” as “kids and toys”. They don’t understand it, they just want to use it and enjoy it. And they certainly don’t care what problematic ethics are involved. So just like with kids, we have to be more careful and caring. And we definitely don’t want to overwhelm them with too much information.
Is uBlock Origin still the king? Been using it since it came out and I genuinely don’t understand the ads problem. Sponsorblock is also a huge help.

Asking as a non-American, did it change anything for the good? I mean, were there any improvements in approved medical cases, or anything like that?
