  • Dude you were being extremely transphobic. I actually went and read your convo. You were using the fact that Diva is trans so say some really horrible shit. No wonder she doesn’t want you posting in her comm.

Even if you differ in opinion. You actually do have to be nice to people and you do have to treat everyone with respect.

  • Yeah having dependents does add another layer of difficulty. Get them involved lol

I think people can part-time disobedience. Of course having a support network would make things easier. Maybe I’m just having trouble imagining.

I do think destroying flock cameras is worthwile. We definitely need more style and I’d argue it’s quite substantial too. For every camera destroyed it drains the budget and limits how many more can be installed.

  • I can believe that but I think the more important metric is labour hours vs food produced. Less labour and more food means more time for other activities.

A support network for civil disobedience can never exist. The state would shut it down immediatly. And yet disobedience must occur if the system is to truly change.

This is where we find ourselves. Destroy flock cameras. Don’t get caught. Support Palestine Action. Don’t get caught. Use what little time is available to fight back. But most importantly, don’t get caught because no one else can afford to save you.

  • Sorry but community gardening as a solution is one of the worst I’ve heard. It’s very hard to achieve the same level of scale and efficiancy that large farms do with these small gardens. For instance, I see no machinery in this picture. Are we really wanting to go back to the days where farming is done by hand?

Sure it’s good for the soul to get together and grow things but as a means to feed society it’s just not viable.

Do you really think a small group of farmers is ungovernable? Peasant farmers have been exploited for pretty much the entire history of humanity!

Ungovernable means civil disobedience, it means sabotage. It does mean building community, but if your community only wants to farm, remember to pay the king after the harvest.

  • We police how people spend their money all the time! Taxes! Laws. Life is full of resitrictions. Just because you have money it doesn’t mean you’re above the law.

By law you must also contribute to society through taxes. How is it fair that a handful of individuals can buy the presidency to reduce their tax contributions. How is it fair that their companies can lobby the government to bend/break the rules.

Musk and Bezos have done well. They had innovative ideas and expanded them incrdibly well. They deserve to live in luxury. They could give half their wealth away and still live in luxury.

I still want to live in a meritocracy where good ideas are rewarded. But the amount of power these individuals have is monstrous. Some of their wealth must be taken away.

  • Iran hates the West because the West has been invading the Middle East for hundreds of years. The crusades were a horrendous time. Muslims and Jews lived fairly peacefully in Palestine before the West sent the WW2 european jewish refugees there and created the state of Israel. They did this to establish a base of influence in the region and further the US imperialist conquest. Maybe Iran wants nukes just so the West will leave it alone. Iran is not the aggressor. You are not immune to propaganda. Neither am I of course, I spent many years thinking the West were the good guys.

  • I’d be interested in your take on NymVPN. Governence is still a bit opaque but they do provide a novel way to incentivise operators to join the network.

Perhaps in the future we could see a ride share app powered in this way. Operators and drivers paid by an algorithm based on work done. Funded by users paying with a specific coin. With the interchangeability of cryptocoin it wouldn’t matter if there are competing projects. The governance question still remains though.
