I don’t know if I was part of any major purge or not… I had some temp bans from a bot and then finally a permanent one, just expressing a wish for some blood clot to break free. I mean, it was way less expressive than other posts but I was marked for exit due to violence?!. I felt sad. I deleted an account, made another and then got re-banned within 24 hrs for no specific post, just for trying to overcome the ban… then I did a bit of research and honestly decided they suck, I don’t need them and life offers better platforms. I hate this current internet shitification level though. The way I was treated… well, I kind of understand why people decide to be trolls as a lifestyle behavior. I am not a troll though… just a bit rowdy and irreverent.
Actually, inadequate lanes do contribute to congestion. The traffic will always be pretty much standard… the time of transit however is slowed so it may seem like there are less cars… but no, it is less road. Also, the curvature of the roads – especially on on ramps can affect visibility of oncoming traffic and not providing for a properly lengthed merge lane is also a big problem. Some things that can help slow down (prevent speeding at merging areas/onramps) so it is easier to merge is having islands between the right and left lanes with greenery, more lights/slowdowns and providing a fast lane for carshares and buses. Building in service roads and bypasses also decreases the congestion.
I can’t comment there anymore. However, now and then I check posts/comments that seem interesting to read but perhaps the subreddits I check are different than yours. Also… the GenZ influence is staggering. I miss the old internet where people just developed a thick skin and still engaged. But then, I am old.
I think it depends on what services your bank offers. My bank offers Zelle transactions rather than handing out your checking account number.
I micro-invest in companies I am familiar in working with at my job. Mostly bio-tech/healtcare/pharm. I have a 403B that is invested in index funds and bonds that is more serious savings. The Robinhood account is more like… a shoe closet. I buy the shoes I like and rarely sell them unless they, well give me a bad experience in real life (looking at your Reddit, Amazon, and Meta). After Trump was elected… I expanded my horizons to European ETFs and Chinese car companies.
I stopped using Paypal a few years ago. But I had to through it to cancel any subs and recurring payments very carefully. I never had them freeze my account/money but I had friends that happened to related to Ebay transactions. Those instances soured me on selling on Ebay as well.

lucelu2@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class11·7 days agoPeople heard him. He had many rallies and participated in primary debates. He also had a book out, did interviews. He had a very repetitive message which is normally good for politicians. Some of his ideas were very out of the norm for the time, some isolationist ideas-- not saying they were not valid but there was an alternative running that fed into people’s prejudices and encouraged them to be hostile and mean- fed their dopamine centers, and said the words “communist” and “socialist” a lot. Also there were a lot of Democrats who wanted to vote for a Democrat, not a “Democrat for convenience.”

I was kind of surprised to find so many that were banned and denied even their appeals. I chose not to appeal because it was obviously they were power addled assholes.
