They have bot armies to amplify their posts to spread themand make people believe it (plus his followers already want to believe it so their job is easy). Musk has made this very easy to do on Xitter.

So this is just another example. When he said she wasn’t black and got made fun of, they rushed to put out propaganda on social media that there was a 23andme test showing she wasn’t Black and “see? he was right!” and amplified it to spread it even more. They do that with everything, like after the debate they put out pictures of grills with meat cooking on them that they said were cats and everyone just believes it.

The majority of White women voted for him 53% to 45% (not sure what percent of those are in the evangelical christian demographic).

Women overall voted against him 53% to 45%. Funny how those numbers were the exact opposite. Anyway it was a smaller margin than Dems were hoping/expecting from women.

I like Theravada because it is closest to simply the Buddha’s teachings without a lot of other side stuff that is found in some of the sects. The thing that has helped me the most is learning to allow emotions to happen but not react to them by going off on a long chain of destructive thoughts, which trigger more bad emotions in an ongoing cycle.

Meditation helps you learn how your own mind works. The idea is just notice that the thought or feeling happened and go back to concentrating or observing (depending on the type of meditation you are doing). Eventually you notice them when they happen during normal activity and can just let go of them without reacting.

I suspect the main purpose of those laws was to handle the increasing problem of elder abuse.

Personally I’m glad to see that so many states make a distinction (hopefully with harsher consequences) for battery against older people, because of all the stories I’ve seen this week about magats punching old people. I haven’t seen any stories about them punching the ones who would be able to put up a fight, funny how that works.

Easy. Laws do not apply to the rich and powerful.

Why do people make comments only on the headline without reading the article and commenting on that? The article *specifically refers to *“American democracy”. It then goes on to reference other specific democracies for comparison.

Headlines shorten things and usually aren’t written by the person who wrote the article anyway; they sometimes don’t even reflect the article contents accurately. If you don’t want to read the article, fine, but please don’t make comments based only on the headline.

I suggest watching the entire video from GA State Rep. Ruwa Romman that is embedded in the article. Not so much for her reasoning about why she is voting for Harris, but for her comments of how to accomplish things politically in this country, how it works, how to actually move the country forward bit by bit. It’s hard and takes work and time but it can definitely be done, and her thoughts about the Green party, how it doesn’t do those things and thus never accomplishes anything.
