happydoors@lemm.eeto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Exposure might cause suffocationEnglish31·2 months agoYou could certainly make up the electrolytes and minerals in other ways (drinking distilled water may even increase appetites for those types of foods). Still, drinking a liquid that leeches minerals out of the tissue around it isn’t healthy
happydoors@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•It's Breathtaking How Fast AI Is Screwing Up the Education SystemEnglish132·2 months agoUnfortunately, I think many kids could easily approach AI the same way older generations thought of math, calculators, and the infamous “you won’t have a calculator with you everywhere.” If I was a kid today and I knew I didn’t have to know everything because I could just look it up, instantly; I too would become quite lazy. Even if the AI now can’t do it, they are smart enough to know AI in 10 years will. I’m not saying this is right, but I see how many kids would end up there.
happydoors@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•Kansas mom sues porn sites because her son visited Chaturbate 30 timesEnglish1·2 months agoI believe lawsuits like this are purposefully manufactured to try and elevate this narrative. She certainly wants the world to operate like what you bring up. The more stories like this pop-up, the more conservative parents will be scared and push for legislation.
Free market trade has existed and changed shape throughout most of human history. Advice with how to deal with it is in the Old Testament. how often or consistent it revolved around a common currency is/was constantly changing, though

I gave it up once I realized it wasn’t for human connections anymore around 2018 or so. I remade an account with a fake name in 2020 when marketplace became undeniably big in America

But this guy’s YouTube video goes over random shit about using different computers. I believe he uses thunderbolt 4 to connect the systems, though. Plenty of other material on YouTube, as well.
Yes, our US hotel industry has mostly been monopolized by Wyndham and a few other companies. They all build large hotels with the same layout. If you try and go under that price point you get stuck with motels, which have mostly been phased out by our culture from taboo & cleanliness anecdotes. Definitely a far fetch from the experience in Europe and other places. The closest we get is Airbnb like set-ups of personal homes rented out.

happydoors@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How likely is it that Trump will be the first President assassinated since Kennedy?English17·3 months agoHe certainly has a lot of enemies but I don’t think it’s likely with his upped security being President again. I still can’t believe we were an inch short of a Trump free world…
Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has been beat to death during Christmas season
I think it’s cool. Just another Mario kart game. Updated graphics and world exploring is neat. I would be loving this game if I was 10. In my thirties? Nah. $$$

happydoors@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Parents turn to smartwatches for their children amid global phone screen-time pushbackEnglish92·4 months agoWell I certainly understand the pros of this but is training your kid to have a dopamine response everytime a notification comes in and buzzes their arm is dangerous, no? It’s like training the kid to always want that feeling for the rest of their life

Surely, somebody near our federal government will throw a hissy fit if he hears about this but Mark’s audience is ginormous
happydoors@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•I outsourced my memory to an AI pin and all I got was fanfictionEnglish141·4 months agoI like how they put in italics “it listens to all your conversations” and yet it’s still third in the list. Reminds me of how most mass media approach mass surveillance!
