Which seems uninformed and ridiculous as Deep Learning for classification and regression problems is an absolute valid tool that cannot be replaced anymore in many domains. I don’t care about LLM bullshit, but being “against Deep Learning in general” is stupid.

gigachad@piefed.socialto Linux@programming.dev•Finland: Linux reaches desktop market share of 19.1% in July - up from 5.4% in JanuaryEnglish2·18 hours agoI searched the internet an found and alternative platform to the Threadiverse where this was discussed (something starting with R, I don’t remember).
So actually I don’t know shit about Finland, but it seemed like the only explanation yet that makes sense. But if you’re Finnish I guess you know a lot more about how it works up there!

gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What AI tools have you found useful?English3·3 days agoI use predictive AI for certain classification tasks daily at work, however I call that Deep Learning and not AI. I don’t want to be too specific, but you can imagine we are classifying certain objects - is this a traffic light, is this a tree etc. It is a task that cannot be solved geometrically very good, so Deep Learning is the perfect use case there.

gigachad@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How can I start getting familiar with the plants, trees and animals around where I live?English5·1 month agoStart with trees. Google what the most common tree species are in your region and than look out for them. It’s easier in autumn when they have fruits. It takes a lot if time to memorize them, do one by one.
Don’t get lost in parks, as park trees are usually foreign species.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Are you fucking kidding me?! I hate anything that requires verification and codes!English4·1 month agoKeePass is too. But it has no cloud support. However, I actually prefer this, just syncing may password database between my devices using syncthing. I read that bitwarden seems to have a bit more modern UI and is easier to use, but as I am used to KeePass I am happy with it. I guess both solutions are fine!

gigachad@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why covering our shoulders with a mantle or blanket is so efficient at warming us?English1·1 month agoFor me, it has always been my triceps. If they are warm, the rest of my body is warm.
I read that in the clash melody
I guess you need to expect your farts being controlled over the next 2-12 km.
Because companies fucked up consoles. All we ever wanted was split screen games with our friends on the couch. Not a single-player-only Need for Speed for 70€ I can only play with an online subscription with random people over the internet.
They made consoles more and more similar to computers over the years, instead of focusing on the social character consoles used to have.
