Hi, it me.
Didn’t they make a Pixelfed app? Is this different, or are they just tarting their own server with their app?
Just puked a little after reading that.
No? Huh, I could have sworn I had downloaded an APK and just assumed it was the beta. Haven’t had an Android in a year, though, so I might just be misremembering or thinking of another app.
Weird. I feel like at some point I remember it having a dark mode on one or the other. Wonder when and why it was removed.
Of course he does! It’s his brand. And his sycophants voters will back him on that. Because it’s too little too late to back out, now. Better to try to secure a spot on the boat than be pushed overboard. They’ll deny deny deny and offer alt “facts” until they’re out of breath to try to get their dry, scratchy tongues on those Oxfords (with elevators). Sadly for them, the boats already sinking, and they themselves put the holes in it so Trump could climb onboard.
As of now, the iOS app does not have a dark mode. Though, I believe the Android version does.
At this point, Donald makes Nixon look like a saint.
“Unfortunately, we’ve found we need an addition trillion per year to ensure our salaries can continue to inflate.”
It’s slowly but surely growing. I also get more engagement there than anywhere else right now.
I mean, I am. I held out because I’m a photographer with local friends & connections that are only on Meta’s platforms. But, it’s just not worth it anymore. It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve had enough.
I heard video killed the radio star.
Turns out reading speed and retention is better with dark text on a light background. I always use automatic switching when available… Light during the day and dark at night.
Unless it’s my code editor, if someone switches my code editor to light mode I’ll murder them.
That is what I’ve heard. Like digital painting and stuff.
Haven’t used Facebook in probably a decade, but as a photographer Instagram is still the most active platform I’ve tried. Vero is weird. PixelFed is pretty empty, mostly people’s snapshots. Others either cost money or aren’t really good on mobile.
DESCRIPTION Lavender is an AI system that produces lists of Palestinians to be targeted for assassination by the Israeli military “with little human oversight and a permissive policy for casualties”, according to +972 Magazine.
Big yikes.
Interesting. I’ll keep an eye on it, but I do wonder if more serious photographers looking to move from IG will feel overwhelmed. First, they need to choose to go to the fediverse over something like Flickr, Foto.app, or Vero. Then, not only will they need to wrap their heads around how the fediverse works, but then also pick a platform and instance, all while leaving behind potentially thousands of followers on IG.
I think we’re hitting a point where the fediverse will be like GNU/Linux. Lots of potential, but too fragmented to get past more than a niche user base with specific priorities.
