English has a really bad habit of mistranslating things, for some reason latte = coffee+milk, while latte means milk

No shaming :) I can have a chuckle on a something that can be considered tragic, I just couldn’t tell if such messages were ironic or just oblivious curiosity.
That’s on my I guess
Is this supposed to be satirical? Because it looks like it.
I’m not saying women cannot monetize their bodies while celebrating their independency, I’m just saying this particular kind of porn videos do not give me this impression, especially since they always creep me out somewhat when I stumble upon one of them. They are either good actors or sometines they seeme genuinely unhappy to be in there.
Unfortunately the exploitation in the porn industry is so high, it’s entirely possible that one of these women didn’t really want to be in any video, especially if you consider that those kind of video are mostly filmed in low-income eastern europe country, so it’s either a localized cultural feticism, or just a place where it’s easier to find vulnerable girls.
People don’t like being told they are wrong, so, if you are sure they are indeed wrong, giving them the option to reconsider is usually more tactful and polite.
Also, I don’t know what your job is, but noone ks paid to be right. People make mistake because you can never be fully certain of anything. You are paid for your time/experience, and that allows you to be wrong (at least in a healthy environment).

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•What's your answer? And in the picture which news story is being reported?

21·7 days agoSince some extensions are “mozilla-approved”, I guess they test it regularly, it wouldn’t be hard to verify if one is really sending anything despite their disclosure.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the most controversial TV finale?
1·8 days agoI agree on the cliffhangers, sometimes unnecessary ones, but I find its plot to be one of the most consistent I watched (especially over 200+ episodes in 10 years), both compared to its contemporary shows and to modern ones.
Sure, many aspects are conveniently hidden behind unrevealed misteries and mistic rules, but it was done in a way that is still enjoyable and that didn’t feel overly forced.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the most controversial TV finale?
54·9 days agoI think that even the best writer in the world cannot find a satisfying reveal of 10 years worth of secrets build-up.
I think the final was the perfect balance between tying all the loose ends and not fully explaining what the island is. (Or rather, they did in some way, they just left some bits to the imagination).
And to everyone thinking that the finale makes it so the entire previous seasons did not happen, sorry but you just didn’t get it.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"What is the oldest country in the world that still exists?" is a Ship of Theseus problem.
11·9 days agoThe Reepublic of San Marino has been independent for a very long time, possibly since 301 ce, that would make it a 1700 years old country that never changed its form of government.
Kids build their immune systems with dirt.
I’m 24 so I don’t think that’s the case lol, they just appear to be dressed like teenagers.
Ok that makes sense, still didn’t look like so lol
Have been to Los Angeles for a short time with friends and of course we tried several fast foods. We decided to go to Hooters just for fun, but the food was surprisingly the most decent of those we tried, and also reasonably priced. Of course we could see a lot of creepy around us and it was a little unconfortable seeing some
clearly underage(apparently >18 yo) girls just being there for their boobs. The US really is a weird place…
The main reason why Europe didn’t get invaded
Maybe it’s the intense lighting, maybe it’s what they used for the “marinating”, but that truly looks like rotten flesh. Zombie bites maybe, not steak
What prevents them for doing the same? Not doing their job until they are fired so they don’t have to quit. I would guess that would be even more shameful
I would hardly consider “one or two trump supporter in two years” a silo, like how many other people you encountered that were less extremists and more capable of dialogue?
Also, lemmy is not immune to tech propaganda, since it cannot be taken in isolation: people will still (albeit probably less intesively) biased by consuming other media, and being mostly a link aggregator rather than a generator of original content, there will still be some bias from the sources. It’s just a place where there’s no omnipotent algorithm so the problem is less grave, but still present.
Not hating, I don’t know from which year this is from, didn’t even know it’s a development kit, and although the capabilities I mentioned are recent (and by recent, thunderbolt 4 has been around for at least a couple years, PD 120w for around the same or even more), a single usb-C has been capable of driving a portable device, that needs charging and a display output, from at least 7+ years.
You can call me cynical, but yes, if I see a strange double usb-C port I think it doesn’t really make a ton of sense and the first thing I think about is a strange trick to transform a standard technology in something proprietary, especially since nintendo has done the same with the switch 2 by implementing non-standard usb c in their dock.

I know, what I’m saying is that latte = milk in italian, so if you ordered latte in Italy you would get a glass of milk, that’s what I mean by mistranslation
