They are already ignoring the Constitution and many other laws. This is not new. It is just more.

Technically, it all started in 2016. Mango 1.0 was the dry run, they left the US government in so much disarray with departments in shambles, documents erased, that it took the 2020-2024 Biden admin almost the entire 4 years to fix up all the destruction. They didn’t even get an FCC chair appointed until almost the end of his term.
Due to that, they didn’t have any time to actually put more safeguards in place. Subsequently, voters that didn’t keep up on things also thought they weren’t doing anything for that whole term, as they did a very poor job of advertising their progress.
Meanwhile, 2020-2024 the doll-toucher and pervert “conservative” pedophile friends drafted all their Project plans to try and make another attempt at destroying American more effective.
Although, Dems were also arrogant enough to think they’d win again, and that whole party is like that South Park episode of San Francisco hybrid drivers smelling their own farts instead of living in reality. Couple in Natty Lite Yahoo tossing his genocide in the mix to make voters stray and get his rocks off on pain, suffering, and death, as he loves to do.
That’s just the last 10 years. Going further back there were other moves of evil, everything just aligned tight enough this round to make a truly concerted effort.
One must also factor in that Mango doesn’t know how to run anything, which really helped. Treating DC like his personal swamp trailer park.
Americans are starting to drop Flock cameras (even Los Angeles) and/or destroy them across the country. AI datacenters are being hated and stopped before they can even start. All necessary to stop the surveillance state perspective. The most powerful part here, is that hatred of Flock and AI is transcending party lines which might finally get Americans unified in a common hate again. (Which is really the only way America ever gets things done.)
Magats are waking up that the flim-flammer Mango is just a con man. It’s trending in a good direction. Corpo media still thinks they can avoid talking about the reality, but as millions of Americans (over 10mil this year I believe so far) lose their jobs with no replacements, people are spending way less. That media can accelerate the correction, and likely will once they are reminded where their money comes from.
Meanwhile, the 1929 market crash is on its way, only from the bottom up instead of the top down, which will be infinitely harder to recover from.
Good times!

Even beyond that, most non-US phones don’t support western hemisphere bands. The EU makes some fantastic handsets, but they use modems that limit function on the other side of the pond.
So it is purely a function of “won’t connect”.
Although, to your privacy point, perhaps not getting signal is actually the bold move that wins.

Another one of those things to think about at scale. So many vibe-coded web sites have such terrible performance. Computers burning power on absolutely nothing, phones draining battery on absolutely nothing. They are causing energy usage to go way up across the planet by lazy ass design that isn’t tested or verified all across the board.

Pixel has better US band support. All the open phones simultaneously never have US or that entire hemisphere’s band support for some terrible reason.
Pixel has all the US 4G and 5G bands. Ironic, although Pixel 9 was likely the last to have such freedoms.

Never underestimate ingenuity. Although the lazy kids would ask the smart kids for shortcuts. Most likely.

It was a different time.

Give the kids a blank laptop that they must erase weekly, and a thumb drive with the basic Gentoo installer.

“Educational” software is terrible.

Oof, you’re in a world of hurt with that phone’s band support. Especially on T-Mobile which is majority 5G now.
4G supported bands B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17, B20, B66
T-Mobile has a sliver of band 12 in most markets, so that helps for indoor/low-band coverage. No band 71 support means you miss out on their nationwide 600MHz low band, however. No band 25, which means you can’t use T-Satellite. No band 41, so you can’t use T-Mobile’s high speed data band (although in most markets it is all 5G now so you wouldn’t be using it anyway.)
On T-Mobile you’re using B2/B66/B12 in markets that still have LTE running on those bands, and it will continue to reduce as they shift further to 5G.
May want to start planning your next phone move now and/or return it if you still can.

US Mobile is terrible. You can’t even change your e-mail without contacting chat, and then they don’t even always do it. Changing SIMs can result in their “migrating” you to another plan that costs more with no way back. Getting your port-out PIN, you again have to chat with their chat people. It’s suuuuper-grifty. Plus you’re putting an MVNO between you and your cellular services. US Mobile has had outages in the past where their customers lose cellular but the main carrier was fine because there wasn’t a third party injected in the middle.
One will find USM has shills all over the web trying to plug their mediocre service when one could go to Visible, Cricket, or even the prepaids of the tier-1 carriers.
Yeah, they’re such a pain I indeed wasted that many words describing why they should be avoided.

You’re not wrong, but also, T-Mobile is still evil, and majority-owned by Deutsche Telekom, with plans to merge it and Telekom into a full German-owned property. Which by itself is pretty evil. All while also still making T-Mobile evil.

Have you heard of cable? Broadcast? Satellite? This already existed. That was the experience. Flip channels to find a show that’s good enough and find something new along the way.
But that’s the real thing that happened. It was never about tech “disrupting” TV any more than it was Uber “disrupting” cabs.
It was just tech going, “hey we want to be in cable, let’s take over and replace cable.”
Swapping one base technology for another, and price-dancing the whole way there, so when your streaming service costs $300/mon, it has been so long that you forgot $80/mon cable used to exist. Read-only services that couldn’t serve you dynamic ads every 3 seconds while profiling your home network and watching your cat through a webcam to figure out what litter coupons to e-mail you next week.
The cable guy screaming in the middle of the street on the streaming service South Park was spot on.

OpenAI employee builds a rapport with an Apple employee on-site. Apple employee leaves laptop unlocked with OpenAI employee in their office and goes to the bathroom. No joke, it’s just that simple.

T-Mobile isn’t the place to switch to. They went evil.

Or run a mesh radio for MeshCore.

You’d think they would have learned that from the cloud or any SaaS provider multiple times over already.

Comfortable enough to not be a hair’s-breadth near death every day of your life, apparently. Try America brah. It is wild.
Don’t flout your success at being old. We don’t have that luxury.

Unfortunately the “comforts” are basic life things like medications to live and being able to live in your home.
We aren’t talking about having Netflix. You protest, you miss work, you are fired, you lose your income, no safety net, no healthcare, loans and debts take your home car (very little public transport that works in much of the country) and life away, and you and your entire family are homeless on a street corner and possibly dying. Inside of 2 weeks for a majority of Americans. Even insulin is hard to acquire without “the system”.
Germany actually used USA IBM computers to keep close track of their genocide and abuse.
