I hope they release an official Steam OS for desktop. Maybe a little Nvidia support.

I am too paranoid about security to pirate a video game. I just don’t play the big AAA titles. There are so many indie games worth my attention and support that I don’t notice.

Not everyone wants or needs to dig deeper though. If Bazzite meets all of someone’s needs, good. The vast majority of people want an OS that just works out of the box.

Just checked out that channel, right up my alley. Thanks for the suggestion.

The joke is that GrapheneOS only works on Google Pixel phones.
I started with a dual boot. Very easy to do, if you have two hard drives. I have landed on Bazzite because I just game and watch movies at home. It does those things very well.

THIS is why privacy matters. Big tech collects and sells all your data so they can use it against you. My model says your Mom is dying and you need to get there quick; oh man, you are gonna pay.

Wait 7 years to get a family doctor. Wait 3 months to get an actual appointment. Lose family doctor. Rinse and repeat.

Fedora did not break the top 10. Is it not good for gaming? Genuinely curious as I was thinking of hopping to Fedora.

This is poor vs rich, not young vs old. The whole evil boomer thing just misdirects our anger.

My wireless steel series worked with no extra effort.

You are right about trying to be power users. I switched to Linux recently and definitely struggled with my sudden reduction is understanding. I got everything I needed for gaming setup up in a few hours. Then I tried to set up some productivity workflows and slammed into a brick wall of my own ignorance. I definitely considered just going back to Windows.

I just made the jump to Ubuntu. You don’t need a Steam Deck or Steam OS. Steam works just as well on any Linux OS. Proton is the real star because it deals with the compatibility issues so well.
I couldn’t get Fedora working well with Nvidia. Bazzite worked for me out of the box. Bazzite is just Fedora with some out of the box configurations, so it must be possible to make Fedora work with Nvidia. I am just not capable of making it work.
I am happy with Bazzite though.
