It’s also near impossible to get real controllers here in the UK.
PS3 controllers still remain my favourite but had to switch to using a PS4 pad after getting scammed at multiple places.
I used to use ArcMenu back when I ran Gnome on PopOS and I remember you could switch the layout between a lot of different menu styles.
Wasn’t just the Win7 style one.
If you don’t already know what desktop you’re going to use I’d suggest KDE Plasma. It’s pretty close to Windows out of the box, and as another comment pointed out there’s Tiled menu for it which is basically a clone of Win10s menu.
Also the Steamdeck has games worth playing.
If I was forced at gun point to switch back to console gaming I’d pick the latest Xbox just because of the backwards compatibility.
I’m looking at it right now and it has two tabs for FTB Legacy and FTB App Import.
You can just download the offical Minecraft launcher for Linux but do yourself a favor and grab Prismlauncher. Even on Windows it’s just overall better.
If I recall correctly Linux Mint has flatpak support out of the box so you should be able to download it from the flathub link on the offical Prismlauncher site.
I’ve seen quite a few people rocking NixOS with Hyperland. And I thought the whole idea of Nix was to be more stable than most rolling releases?
I don’t use either so I’m far from an expert on this.
Big businesses couldn’t care less about where the money comes from as long as it ends up in their pockets.
Only thing stopping them from sending hired thugs to your house to shake the change out your pockets is the law. And even then they might try if the profit outweighs the penalty.
And god forbid we play games for fun…
They wanted to many years ago but the EU actually stopped them, out of fear Microsoft would have the monopoly on anti virus software or something.
Worse for us who bought the game on Origin before they even came to Steam…
Aaaa fuck off I still play BF1 and doubt I’ll get an origin refund after 400hours gameplay

Good onya mate!
Can you remember the last version that worked for you? A quick workaround could be downloading an older build off the github.
Still this is extremely disappointing and hopefully someone forks it.
Luckily the laptop doesn’t use Nvidia.
Hopefully soon my own desktop won’t either >.>
You can change the core count AFTER making the VM which I agree is really annoying.
Besides that everything else has worked more reliably than others options I’ve tried.
I hate to say it but having a full desktop is becoming more and more of an enthusiast setup.
Even laptops are becoming somewhat niche as people more just use their phone for all web browsing.
I understand having updates go south on you, I do use a rolling release on my own PC, Annnnd Windows 10 before that.
But I’m paranoid about security, increasingly so in recent times. So I at least want him on an updated web browser.
As long as they keep supporting the framework for Firefox we’ll still get working forks like LibreWolf.
Hopefully Ladybird starts picking up more in the next few years…
