Twist: They’re alive. And they’re angry. Choose your weapon.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the people who believe politics no longer serves them aren’t motivated to participate in the political system.

Despite all the Biden administrations achievements, they still haven’t addressed what the left has been asking for over the last decade.

Stop supporting the war in Gaza? Nah.

Single-payer healthcare system? Nuh uh.

Housing crisis relief? If you’re good… maybe.

Courts and criminal justice reform? Lol.

Billionaire tax? Nope.

Livable minimum wage? Psh.

Legalize marijuana? Hah! No.

Sweet potatoes. Something about them made me gag. Every Thanksgiving a heaping pile of them would wind up on my plate and I’d have to power though or else face the wrath of my grandmother.

Nowadays I love them. Dunno when the switch happened.

USB-C has changed the entire game. It’s a completely different game now. It’s like Yahtzee vs Uno. Or like Call of Duty vs Microsoft Flight Simulator. Remember playing freeze tag or dodgeball? Well it’s not like that anymore. Now it’s like playing soccer.

Keep yelling at those who are so tuned out that they can’t care enough to give a fuck about who’s running the country. Keep making excuses for the Democrats’ decade of mediocre complacency. I’m sure things will change.

What do you expect in this economy? Groceries aren’t the only things being hit by inflation.

Blaming the voting public does nothing other than to help us feel better about ourselves. “It’s not our fault, the people are just stupid and naive. They were always going to vote for Trump, there’s nothing else we could have done”. It’s what we’ve been doing the past three election cycles and it isn’t working.

We can’t make them change. Change only comes from within. We can’t keep telling them they’re better off with us. We need to pass legislation so that the average, uniformed voter can see it for themselves.

And somehow it will be the Dem’s fault

They choose their big money corporate donors over the American people and then are surprised when the American people chose big money over them.

I thought calling Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage was the Trump campaign’s final death rattle.

You can certainly harbor contempt for the American people who choose such a morally bankrupt coalition while also recognizing that the oppositional movement has repetitively failed to inspire its own voter base to turn out.

The fact remains that the Dems have thrice now run on a platform of unity and forsaken the will of the Left in an attempt to appeal to those who would happily annihilate the Left in pursuit of its own goals.

I did it. Now what?

And yet despite all the warning signs his hubris disrupted the democratic process and progressives were once again told to fall in line and back a candidate who campaigned on appealing to the center-right.

The Dems have let down the American people, again.

Pissed doesn’t really describe my emotions today. Trump won decisively, including the popular vote and the Senate. Unlike 2016, the people who voted against him are inarguably the minority coalition now, despite it consisting of tens of millions of people.

I feel defeated; disillusioned and despondent.

It was feeling a lot like 2016 to me over the last several months. I physically face-palmed when she went on SNL. I held onto hope that after experiencing a Trump term things would be different but I should have known. After all, when in my lifetime has this country not let me down when it matters most?

If there’s any hope for the future, the Democratic party needs to evolve. We can’t wait for another global crisis to get us out of this mess again.
