Who is making these?
This is like me in university reading a text and highlighting every second word because “THATS the important part!!”.
I only use one highlighter color though…
It’s a great example proving that CONTRAST is what you use to make certain words more important. For example, if all the text on that black background were in light gray or light blue or light any color, you could emphasize the important words by making them pure white.
I laugh whenever I see mostly black text headlines on white backgrounds with certain words in red (therefore having less contrast than black), as those words become less noticeable, not more so.
I hadn’t used YouTube for like six years but recently got back into it a little bit in an Apple TV, and god damn is there a lot of slop in the thumbnails (videos too!).
Is that what corporate social media looks like in general these days? I’ve been running ad blockers for years too so maybe this is just everywhere and I haven’t noticed.
I really have much more trouble parsing the different colored text than should technically be the case.

In the case with the red we as species are incentivized to that colour.
I always assume these are AI generated. I see this excessive color text shit on YouTube shorts all the time.

Here’s how I read it:
280p Skittle font. Praised for its high legibility and legendary flavor
I like my Skittles in different colors, not these though
