I’ve got an older PC that I’m upgrading and going to turn into a NAS for my house, and the poor thing spent YEARS as the living room PC in a house full of stoners. Every surface is slightly amber and sticky. Any good cleaners I can use to remove it all without damaging the electronics?

Consider that if it’s not on the fan and it’s working then doing something can break it. You don’t need to clean everything, it’s stable.
Honestly, my main concern is various empty connectors and slots on the motherboard that I’d like to use in the upgrading. The DIMM slots, in particular, that are currently empty look like they’re coated with resin. I’m not at all sure how that might affect conductivity.
