I found a sick deal on an r730xd with a 24 bay backplane for u.2 drives which is perfect since i already have 5 3.2tb u.2 drives and am looking to get more, onoy question is u.2 uses pcie x4 and 24 bays is 96 lanes + a network card and it seems like the r730xd supports up to e5 v4 which all only have 40 lanes each. Im not sure the exact part number on the mobo, nor do i know enough about server parts to know how many if at all the amount of lanes the mobo chipset has.

I assume it has to have enough to work as why the fuck would dell even make the damn thing for it to not work but before i waste money i want to get concrete evidence. If someone could point me in the right direction, thank you.
