First it’s not exactly 30 year old content. There seems to be an actual effort to make a new WoW game based on the things fans like about the older content. There is a lot that is still “classic” but they have added a decent amount of changes.

To answer your question though, IMO they are using the Beta for a few things:

1. An end of Q3 money grab with just enough delay to push the “release” into Q4
2. A hype machine for the actual release.
3. A test of their new server infrastructure. The game is now “realmless” so it is essentially a mega server only separated by your chosen play style ( PVE, PVP, RP, Hardcore). I’m not even sure if they are going to separate regions (NA/EU) or if they are trying to make it more or less a global server.

Snowrunner is a good one. It has the weird combination of being a nice peaceful slow paced game that occasionally drives me into a rage and makes me want to break things.

I am first and foremost a World of Warcraft addict. I don’t know if it is actually one of the best games of all time, but it’s my comfort blanket. So it takes the #1 spot.

Mrchromebox is the way. I have an old Acer Chromebook that I use for distro hopping, was using MX with KDE Plasma for a while with no issues. This week I’ve been trying to get FreeBSD to work on it…well I got FreeBSD to work, but I can’t seem to get any DE running with it…yet.

I often wonder how much was lost just in the Library of Alexandria. Start combining that one place, with countless wars, fires and natural disasters throughout time and it boggles my mind thinking about it.

This is where I landed. I got annoyed trying to set up FL through Wine, so I decided to just give Reaper a shot. There has been some learning involved, but I am enjoying it.

For whatever reason it was easier for me to learn a new DAW and native Linux Plugins than it was for me to learn how to properly set up FL and plugins in Wine.

I will probably give FL a go again when I have more time, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around the things I needed to fix.

Diablo, I want it to be an MMORPG. The story and setting of those games is awesome, but I’ve never been big on the play style.

Wish Blizzard would just layer Diablo story/art onto the WoW gameplay.

I dunno if it’s “comedy based” but I find Grim Fandango really funny.
