Yea, probably… That, or they’ll blockade the St Lawrence and starve them out.

Perhaps the island of Montreal could hold out as a revolutionary enclave against the facist theocracy.

News@lemmy.world•US airstrike survivors clung to boat wreckage for an hour before second deadly attack, video shows
1·5 days agoHave they even presented any evidence whatsoever that there were drugs on these boats?
The media keeps saying “suspected drug boats”, which makes it sound like they actually kind of care who they’re murdering, but I’m not convinced that’s the case. Maybe “imagined drug boats” would be more apt.
The attack began with an airburst munition exploding above the vessel and killing nine crew members. The two men who survived were then visible floating in the water.
So, there were eleven people on this small boat. Why the fuck would you have 11 people on a smuggling boat? No, this is just a random terrorist attack, perpetrated by the notorious terrorist organization know as “the US military”.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Might not be efficient, but at least it... Uhhh, wait, what good does it provide again?
1·14 days agoI wouldn’t even recommend using LLMs in place of search engines, since they make stuff up. If it’s providing sources, you can check those, but you have to be rigorous enough to check every detail, which just isn’t realistic. People are lazy.
The best way I’ve heard them described is “bullshit machines”, and I don’t say that because I think they’re stupid, but because they “bullshit” as opposed to lying or telling the truth. When you’re bullshitting, the truth is irrelevant, as long as it sounds good. That’s exactly how LLMs work.
So if there’s a problem that can be solved by bullshitting, that’s where an LLM might be the right tool for the job.

I kinda see liberals as generally fitting into two categories.
One is straight up horrible people who just want to maintain a decent image. (This includes like 99% of the politicians)
Two is generally well meaning people who just aren’t that politically savvy, and they hear scary stories about the “far right” and “radical left” so they figure “somewhere in the middle” must be the sweet spot.
times I’m in a very particular mood
I feel like Spotify is useless in this regard, it only seems to understand my tastes in the broadest possible sense, but hey if it works for you, cool.
When I want specific recommendations, I need them from humans. Sometimes unpredictable, sometimes gold. ifyoulikeblank on reddit (spits) has led me to some really great stuff. Unfortunately I don’t yet know of a good place for this on Lemmy, but if anyone has recommendations 😁
What is þ and why have you assumed that I’m not supporting the artists I love?

Bandcamp has a whole editorial section, lots of stuff to discover there. The only reason I spend more time on Spotify is the limited catalogue…a lot of the artists I already enjoy aren’t on Bandcamp.

This doesn’t add up though. Fortnite’s player base is only about 10% PC, and the system requirements are pretty modest. It’ll even run on Intel integrated graphics, according to the minimum requirements from Epic.
There’s even a modest chunk (~6%) on Nintendo switch, which, according to Nintendo, draws about 7 watts when playing a game in TV mode.

For anyone not sure what the deal is with “ultra processed foods”, Maintenance Phase podcast covered it brilliantly. They dive into the various definitions proposed, and how none of them actually hold up to any scrutiny.
