TBoGT was Luis, who was pretty much what VI’s male protag (Jason?) should’ve been. He actually had a personality other than just being the big badass guy.

I suspect the reason they haven’t had female protagonists before is just pure male defaultism rampant in the gaming industry. Gamers would’ve made a ton of noise in the past. Otherwise, a game with Catalina as the protagonist could’ve been really interesting.

I suspect two things:

The world will be more immersive and less soulless once we can actually navigate it. It’s also the first time there’s been a swamp in GTA which is cool.

Lucia will be by far the better protagonist. The other one seems poorly written and with a voice completely mismatching the character model. I think Lucia will have more depth and her voice is more pleasant.

This game is what’s finally going to push me upgrade my 3060Ti in a few years but… I’m not exactly hopeful on there being anything to upgrade to. Would prefer to skip nvidia and amd has decided to abandon the high end market but if I’m upgrading, I’d like to go up a tier or two, not just a few generations. I want to be blown away by the card that’s going to have to last me the next 5-10 years.

I’m also guessing there won’t be a new GPU generation out next year.

RDR1 was a special case, San Diego didn’t port their previous few games either which is why we don’t have Midnight Club LA on PC for example.

GTA is too big. It’s guaranteed extra sales for a game they already have. Same with RDR2, it was heaps more popular than the first (which itself was more popular than expected I guess) so leaving it console exclusive was never really on the table.

You do realize that there are many governments spending less on healthcare than the US that do have universal healthcare, right? And I mean that as a percent of GDP rather than a flat figure per person and that’s NOT counting insurance and out of pocket spending for the US. The US government already spends a fucktonne of money on it.

You don’t need to increase taxes significantly to pay for it. Might not need to do it at all. A neat side effect of poor people having access to healthcare is that they’re healthier and can work, meaning they also pay tax.

The good news is that there’s nothing stopping us from starting a competitor. Nvidia probably wants to use it to push their graphics cards.

Nvidia also sells super expensive graphics cards. They probably want you to buy a couple of 5090s or a Spark.

They know they can’t shut down the entire self hosted LLM market but they can direct it towards using Nvidia GPUs by making sure llama.cpp devs don’t spend much time on ROCm support, etc. And they probably know that ClosedAI and Anthropic’s days on the frontier are limited.

Yes but you have no choice other than maybe pulling a fuse. Most AWD systems, at least in budget cars, work like that, though often via a clutch or a viscous coupling or something rather than an electric motor. Premium cars get you torsen and other cool solutions.

AWD and 4WD are also marketing terms rather than regulated in any way. In general you’re right, but to be safe, always check what type of transfer case you’re actually dealing with. Some “4WD” cars these days are AWD with super clever electronical controls for off road usage.

I never have intentionally rotated them, the only uneven wear I’ve had is sides vs center, not left vs right.

All I do is check that the better two tires go on the rear axle when changing between winter and summer tires, but that’s only when I have four of the exact same tire. When I’ve had two different pairs, I make sure that the better pair goes on the rear axle, at least in the winter.

You can sell them though, someone might want at least the two and potentially even the third one.
