Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What did you do today, and was it what you wanted to be doing?
3·21 days agoI’m rewriting my soundboard in Rust! /j (It was already written in Rust)
I was restructuring my soundboard to decouple the frontend and backend so it can be run as a daemon easier. Also removing the usage of global variables and avoiding using like 5 locks at once.
Haven’t pushed any of the modifications yet, but if you’re interested in the soundboard, here it is
Realistically, why would they GAF? They aren’t exactly doing something illegal. It’s just morally wrong.

Oddly Satisfying@lemmy.world•The way this plane fits between the buildings when photographed from the groundEnglish

I mean, this is from like last century and probably not where this post’s photo is taken, but low flying planes exist. Not saying this isn’t generated though.
HOW MANY P I C K L E S
Good advice actually. They likely won’t care about this and if they do, I can always change it.
I’ve never used Fedora. I guess it can be a good learning opportunity but that also means I can’t provide fast solutions based on my experience. I’ll look into it though.
I live with them, so I can always provide tech support, though I believe they possess the ability to problem-solve themselves too (if they try). I can try to get multiple DEs on it, but from my experience multiple DEs often pull in their own software and the application launcher starts to get overwhelming.
I’m aware I will be bugged, just hopefully not as much. KDE is not a must, I just have a general good time using the DE, and I believe they would like it too. My main worries about replacing the DE myself is that the integration will not be as great and there can be more annoying stuff coming out of that.

10·2 months agoMan I regret using Synapse. All the other home server software sounds so cool and there’s no good way to migrate to them yet.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your absolute favourite track from a video game?
2·1 year agoIt’s a piece of music featured in surviv.io, a browser 2D battle royale that has a tragic story of being acquired by a stupid company who ran it to the ground.
Occasionally a Desert Rain Map rotation would happen, and this track is played on loops in a saloon, which there is only one. The relaxing vibes contrast so much with the battle royale.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do higher class people move their faces slower when speaking and making facial movements?
5·1 year agoRecently I’ve been recommended multiple videos about Linus Torvalds and a lot of the comments are joking about how he moves his mouth so little while talking to conserve energy.
+2 despite writing a good amount of my own programs (mostly open source).
I just like making stuff on my own. New technologies are cool but I don’t really care about them. It’s not like I can afford them anyway. Even if they are FOSS it takes too much work to actually swap frameworks.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Here's the most played games on Steam Deck for July 2025
3·1 year agoI found PEAK very fun in both multiplayer and singleplayer.
The best decision the devs have made is, I think, the fact that the map only resets every 24 hours. You get to keep trying the same map to master it, but also get something fresh every day.
I mostly played it in single player, and it’s very satisfying to climb the mountain.
