I just upvote things I like that I wanna see again. Although there are very few lemmy front-ends on PC that’ll let me see what posts I upvoted so it don’t really work out too well. So far I’ve only found photon and stability on that is questionable if I don’t go to the upvoted page right away

Look up an app called Revolt. It’s like discord but designed with focus on privacy and open sourced development.

If you don’t need an exact 1 for 1, you could try Telegram and Signal. People post qr codes for groups in that app all the time

nah, a lot of the site is free. you only need the premium for browsing more than a few pages at a time and watching videos

funny, I have the opposite problem. Tons of stuff I saw on reddit gets removed when I try to go back to it, while I can pull a lotta lemmy shit up any time. Even then, the stuff here worth saving is usually some sort of image that’s been posted at least 2 other places by then. If you’re worried about text posts, you could screencap em and share them like tumblr memes

idk if this is related but my mother’s staying with me for Thanksgiving and she came a week early cause she still has some stuff at my place that she needs. Anyways she was watching msnbc on fubo and it just went offline around 5pm EST. only thing on it was a screen saying “we’re currently negociating with NBC to get this channel back online,” but that was the only channel that had this issue
